Geep Batteries
(India) Pvt. Ltd was incorporated in November 2002. It is the
Flagship Company of the THANAWALA GROUP of companies.
The objective of the company is to manufacture and market the
product range in the dry cell battery and the torch products
segment under the brand name of “GEEP” in the Indian
subcontinent and also globally through its export department.
The group acquired the batteries and torch business from
Gillette India Ltd. along with the manufacturing and the
sourcing facility. Presently the battery products are
manufactured at the Mysore works in Karnataka State and the
torches at the Baddi work in the Himachal State of India. The
recent introductions made by the company are the alkaline and
the rechargeable products.
GEEP has a very strong brand image in the northern India, The
company has the complete range of products which a battery
company should posses, GEEP also has a strong network of 1000
distributors scattered all over India. GEEP has a stake of above
50% in the Canteen Stores Department of the DEFENCE FORCES of
India. The Brand Equity in this area is so high that the company
continuously supplies entire range of products through standing
order system in the CSD stores all over India. Only high quality
products tested by the Bureau of India Standards (ISI) can be
supplied to the CSDs. |

GEEP believes in
giving the consumer a high quality product. Our Mysore factory
is the first ISO 9001 certified Dry Cell Manufacturing company
in the country. GEEP is very soon going to launch a variety of
products in Torches, Batteries, Torch Bulbs, Rechargeable
Batteries & Chargers, Rechargeable Torches, and Alkaline
batteries. GEEP is bound to become a complete battery company.
